Everyone joins from their own phone
No account needed to join. The audience screen runs in any browser too, so a laptop pointed at the projector follows the room along with it.
Sheet music, in sync
Upload a Guitar Pro file once and every musician in the room reads the same tab on their own device. Chord charts and timed lyrics scroll themselves as the song plays, so nobody loses their place turning a page.
One setlist, everyone on it
Build a setlist ahead of the gig or queue songs as you go. When the host moves to the next song, every screen follows.
Locked to the same beat
A shared clock keeps every device within ten milliseconds of the others, so the tempo, the count-in, and the beat visualiser agree across the whole band.

Common questions
Yes. There is no billing, subscription or paid tier anywhere in the app today — start a session and invite your whole band at no cost.
No. Anyone with the session code can tap “Just watch” and follow the lyrics and vote on what plays next with no sign-up at all. What needs a free Coda account is joining as a performer — the role that puts you in the room’s line-up of players — which takes a 6-digit email code or a Google sign-in and drops you straight back into the session. In Open Mic sessions a watcher can still do more than watch, though: request a song, back one, sign up to fill an open part on someone else’s request, and edit or withdraw their own — no account needed for any of it.
Guitar Pro tab files (.gp, .gpx, .gp5, .gp4) and MusicXML that every phone in the room reads as the same synced tab, chord charts you paste or write in the chord editor — including a sheet pasted with LRC timestamps, which times the chords to the recording the same way — and timed lyrics, fetched automatically for songs that have them.
Yes. Coda runs in any phone or desktop browser, so joining or watching a session needs nothing installed at all — open the link and you’re in.
Yes. The audience screen at a session’s watch link shows the lyrics scrolling in time with the song, a beat visualiser, and the setlist — and needs no account at all. Open it in any browser and point it at the room.
Yes. Build a playlist once in your playlist library, then pick it as the source playlist when you start (or reconfigure) a session — its songs sit ready one tap from the queue, so the same setlist is there next time without rebuilding it.
